What's happening around universal health coverage at the WHA 2018?

Events on UHC at the World Health Assembly 2018

UHC2030 partners and related initiatives will organise various official and informal side events on UHC during the 71st World Health Assembly (WHA) in Geneva starting from 20 May, 2018. For those planning to attend the WHA, please see below for some events of interest. 

UHC2030 flagship event
Wednesday, 23 May 18:00 - 19:30 Palais des Nations, Room VII
‘Member states commitment to the global movement towards universal health coverage: focused actions on primary health care and financing for effective delivery’.

In this event, UHC2030 Secretariat will arrange a ceremonial signing session for countries and organisations who newly joined UHC2030). 

UHC2030 is also directly involved in the organisation of the following events:

21 May – 12:30-14:00: Universal health coverage (UHC) in emergencies - a call to action Flyer (official WHA side event, Palais des Nations, Room VII)

22 May – 17:45-20:30: Perilous or productive? Working with the private sector to achieve UHC  Flyer  (UHC2030 side event, Espace Henry Dunant, International Red Cross and Red Crescent Museum, Avenue de la Paix 17, Geneva) 

23 May – 12:30-14:00: Institutionalizing social participation and hearing people’s voice to secure sustainable gains for UHC (official WHA side event, Palais des Nations, Room XXIV)

24 May - 12.30 – 14.00 Inclusive formulation of evidence-based policies and programmes for Universal Health Coverage (official WHA side event, Palais des Nations, Room VII)
