27th September 2018 07:15 UTC
Invitation only event.

UHC2030, with collaborating partners, are supporting the Governments of Swiss and Afghanistan for organising a high-level event on UHC in Emergencies at UNGA 2018 in New York, USA on 27 September 2018 at 8.15-9.30 am.
Invitation only.
There is an urgent need for more coherent approaches to expand UHC in armed conflict, fragile settings and other emergencies. Ensuring UHC in emergencies requires bringing together humanitarian and development actors to strengthen and support national health systems, build resilience to scale-up and sustain core public health capacities, whilst supporting, and when necessary, delivering, essential lifesaving interventions.
This initiative aims at creating a momentum for the issue of UHC in situations of emergency, ahead of the High-level year on UHC in 2019. To this end, a call to action will be launched.
